Upcoming Fall Equinox – Saturday, September 21, 2019 - starts 7:30/8:00 pm Gather around 7:00pm Read details below!
On the Spring Equinox of 2003, a small circle of “mixed bloods” held our first Drum circle at Dove Creek Ranch. Several of us have spent many years studying and practicing “Metis Medicine Ways”- mixed blood teachings and ceremonies to heal ancestral patterns, connect to our lineages, and raise our consciousness, thereby healing ourselves as well as our world. It was a small group, we had a small fire pit and a few drums, but were thrilled to start such a deeply powerful ceremony to connect within, to one another and to Mother Earth. The circles have grown over the years, a medicine wheel has been created, a larger fire pit has been built, a pow wow drum and many hand drums have been acquired, and the community has grown considerably!
On the Solstices and Equinoxes, prayers are offered, tears fall, joys are shared, new friendships are established, and gratitude is bountiful. We focus on the theme of the particular time of year, as well as any significant planetary movements happening at that time. Above all, we honor our relationship to the season and our connection to All That Is. We come together to celebrate, give, receive, listen, dance, be still, laugh, cry, connect, and let go of what no longer serves our highest good, thus accessing more of our Light. We honor our ancestors and those who have passed on. After the drumming ceremony is complete, with our grateful hearts we gather to have a delicious potluck feast at the ranch house, enjoying the communal bounty of nature. We invite you to come be a part of this community and travel the Medicine Wheel of Life, deepening your connection to all of Creation.
